What are cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.

This policy explains how Pagebase uses cookies on its public marketing site (pagebase.be) and the dashboard. It does not apply to websites built with Pagebase by our customers — those have their own policies.

Categories

European law (the ePrivacy Directive, transposed into Belgian law via Article XII.13 of the Code of Economic Law) distinguishes between:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. session, security). No consent needed.
  • Functional — remember preferences (e.g. language). Consent recommended; we keep these to a minimum.
  • Analytics — measure use of the site. Consent required if they identify the user.
  • Marketing/advertising — track users for advertising. Consent required.

Cookies we use

Pagebase uses only strictly necessary and functional cookies on its own platform. We do not use marketing or third-party advertising trackers.

All cookies are first-party — they are set by pagebase.be and are not shared with third parties.

Note on REMEMBERME: this cookie is only set if you explicitly tick the "Stay logged in" box at sign-in. It can be deleted by signing out or clearing cookies; without it you simply log in each session via the standard session cookie.

Third-party cookies

The Pagebase marketing site does not set third-party tracking cookies. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising network.

Stripe may set cookies on the checkout page when you upgrade to a paid plan, for fraud detection. Stripe's cookies are documented in their cookie policy.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly, first-party analytics approach: server-side aggregation of page views with truncated/pseudonymised IP addresses. No cookies are used for analytics. No data is shared with third parties.

Manage your cookies

Because we only use strictly necessary and functional cookies, we don't show a consent banner. If you'd still like to limit cookies, you can:

  • Block all cookies in your browser settings (the site will still work but you'll need to log in each visit and re-select your language).
  • Delete existing cookies from your browser at any time.
  • Use private/incognito browsing to clear cookies automatically when you close the window.

Most browsers offer cookie controls — see help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.

Changes

If we add cookies (e.g. to introduce optional analytics), we'll update this page and request consent first. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
